Kampala, Uganda: The National Resistance Movement (NRM) has announced that accreditation for members of its National Executive Council (NEC) ahead of this year’s Delegates Conference will take place tomorrow, Friday, August 22, 2025, at the Uganda Institute of Information and Communications Technology (UICT) in Nakawa.
In a notice issued by the NRM Secretary General, Rt. Hon. Richard Todwong, on Thursday, members NEC members have been directed to strictly complete their accreditation between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm, with no room for late registration on the day of the meeting.
“The accreditation for the upcoming NEC Meeting shall take place tomorrow, Friday, August 22, 2025, from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Please keep time for accreditation as there will be no window to do so on the day of the meeting,” Todwong wrote.
The NEC meeting, scheduled for Saturday, August 23, 2025, at State House Entebbe, will serve as the official curtain-raiser for the ruling party’s Delegates Conference.
The gathering is expected to shape the roadmap for NRM’s internal processes ahead of the 2026 General Elections, including key discussions on policy direction, candidate endorsements, and party structures.
The 2025 NRM Delegates Conference comes at a critical political moment as President Yoweri Museveni’s party prepares to defend its hold on power amid growing opposition mobilization, particularly from the National Unity Platform (NUP) and other emerging political blocs.
Party insiders note that this year’s conference will also focus on strategies to strengthen grassroot mobilization, youth and women empowerment structures, and aligning the NRM manifesto with Uganda’s Vision 2040 agenda.
