Museveni hosts NRM Delegates in Entebbe for crucial NEC meeting

Entebbe, Uganda: President Yoweri Museveni, the National Chairman of National Resistance Movement (NRM) has this afternoon welcomed thousands of the ruling party’s delegates for a crucial NEC (National Executive Council) meeting taking place at State House Entebbe.

The NEC session is the second in a series of high-level engagements called by the President ahead of the NRM National Delegates’ Conference due at Kololo. Earlier in the week, the Central Executive Committee (CEC) convened for two days, and today’s NEC is set to review and adopt its report and resolutions.

President Museveni is expected to set the tone for the party’s roadmap as it moves towards the Delegates’ Conference. Secretary General Richard Todwong will also present his report outlining the key outcomes of the CEC deliberations.

According to Deputy Secretary General Rose Namayanja Nsereko, NEC brings together leaders from across the NRM structure, including Members of Parliament, district chairpersons, and senior cadres.

Key agenda items on the table include President Museveni’s address, presentation of the Secretary General’s report, endorsement of recommended candidates for CEC positions, and campaigns by the contestants.
