A New Chapter for NRM: Congratulating the New CEC Members

By Bagarukayo Abdu

The National Resistance Movement (NRM) has taken a significant step forward with the election of its new Central Executive Committee (CEC) members on August 27, 2025. This event marks a crucial moment in the party’s journey, reflecting its commitment to democratic processes and leadership renewal. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the newly elected members, wishing them success in their roles as they steer the party towards greater achievements.

To those who did not secure positions in the CEC, we urge you to remain loyal and committed to the NRM’s ideals and objectives. The party’s strength lies in its unity and the collective effort of its members. Your continued support and dedication will be invaluable in advancing the party’s agenda and ensuring its continued success.

The presence of His Excellency, the President of Uganda, Rt. Gen. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, at the event underscores his unwavering commitment to the party. His attendance from 10:00 AM to 4:00 AM the next morning—a span of nearly 19 hours—speaks volumes about his dedication and leadership. This level of commitment is reminiscent of other African leaders who have shown extraordinary dedication to their parties and countries, such as Nelson Mandela’s leadership in the African National Congress during South Africa’s transition to democracy.

The election of the new CEC is significant for NRM, as it sets the stage for the party’s future direction and strategies. It reflects the party’s internal democratic processes and its ability to adapt and evolve. As the NRM embarks on this new chapter, we look forward to seeing the positive impacts of its leadership on Uganda’s political landscape.

In celebrating this milestone, we also acknowledge the importance of unity and collective effort in achieving the party’s goals. The NRM’s continued success will depend on the active participation and support of all its members, regardless of the positions they hold.

Let us move forward together, with a renewed sense of purpose and commitment to the NRM’s vision for Uganda. Congratulations once again to the new CEC members, and we look forward to a bright future under their leadership.
