FUFA maintains online tickets for Cranes World Cup Qualifiers at Namboole

Namboole, Uganda: Uganda’s football governing body (FUFA) has confirmed that tickets for the Uganda Cranes’ 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers double header at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole will be sold exclusively online, marking a shift from traditional physical sales.

The Cranes will host Mozambique on Friday, September 5 at 7:00 pm (EAT), before facing Somalia on Monday, September 8, in two crucial home fixtures at Namboole, a 35000-seater stadium that hosted 19 fixtures of the just concluded CHAN 2024 tournament.

According to FUFA, all tickets will be sold exclusively online (available from Monday afternoon), with no physical tickets available at the gates. Fans will be able to purchase passes through the FUFA ticket app or via MOMO Pay.

The ticketing structure has been broken down into five categories, with Early Bird going for UGX 10,000 (limited edition), while ordinary tickets will go for UGX 20,000. Silver tickets go for UGX 30,000, Premium: UGX 50,000, and Platinum: UGX 150,000.

FUFA Executive Committee Member, Roger Byamukama, urged supporters to purchase early and show up in huge numbers to give the national team an edge.

“We call upon fans to buy tickets early to avoid the last-minute rush and also come in big numbers to give our boys a chance in these two games. Preparations are ongoing and our team is working around the clock to ensure that the experience at Namboole remains top class,” Byamukama said.

The double header at Namboole will also feature Somalia vs. Guinea on Friday at 3:00 pm as the curtain-raiser before the Cranes take to the pitch later that evening against Mozambique. This, Byamukama says, will enable fans to watch two matches with the same ticket that day, as it has been the norm during CHAN matches at Namboole.

The Cranes currently sit 4th in Group C with 9 points in six matches, while Somalia and Mozambique, the two double-head fixtures, are 6th and 2nd with 1 and 12 points respectively. Algeria lead the group with 15 points, losing only once to Guinea.

FUFA is banking on a full house to create an electrifying atmosphere as Uganda pushes to strengthen its chances of securing a spot at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
