Museveni flags off NRM Mobilizers to sensitize masses on poverty reduction programs

President Museveni flags off NRM mobilizers at State House, Entebbe, ahead of nationwide public sensitization programs.

Entebbe, Uganda: President Yoweri Museveni Friday officially flagged off mobilizers under the Umbrella Association of NRM Mobilization Groups, tasking them to continue sensitizing Ugandans on government programs aimed at improving livelihoods and reducing poverty.

The group, led by Hajjat Mukalazi Aminah and coordinated by Arthur Nuwagaba, was directed by the President to maintain focus on the four mobilization approaches: villages, workplaces, activity-based mobilization, and general public engagement—methods they have been performing effectively.

Addressing the mobilizers at State House Entebbe, Mr Museveni praised their dedication, noting that their ideological orientation gives them a clear understanding of the NRM vision. “You are ideologically oriented and understand the vision of the NRM, which is why I salute your work. This is how we help society get out of poverty,” he said.

“It seems you are clear about the vision and strategy of NRM because that’s always the problem, people don’t know how to get out of poverty,” the President said. He emphasized the four key sectors driving economic transformation: commercial agriculture, manufacturing and artisanship, services, and ICT.

Mr Museveni further tasked the mobilizers with engaging communities in anti-corruption efforts, ensuring government funds reach their intended beneficiaries. He pledged to support their SACCO initiatives aimed at enhancing their livelihoods.

The mobilizers presented a Memorandum of Understanding to the President, expressing gratitude for his leadership in steering Uganda’s socio-economic transformation.
