Mbarara, Uganda: A woman in Mbarara has shocked many after winning over UGX 250 million from the Uganda Bettors Association fixed games, and immediately quitting her job at the bank.
Struggles as a Single Mother
Sarah Achiengo, a teller in one of Mbarara’s top banks, opened up about her financial struggles as a single mother of three.
“God has answered my prayers. I have been suffering for years. The job I had couldn’t cover school fees, rent, bills and everything else. Men always tried to take advantage of my situation because of my struggles,” she painfully revealed.
Her decision came after reading about an MP who had also won big through the Uganda Bettors Association.
“When I saw that story, I told myself this was my only hope. Even if I got scammed, I would not cry because at least I tried. I picked the little savings I had and subscribed for fixed games. I contacted them for guidance after making payments. Since I don’t know how to bet, I asked them to do it for me, I sent them my stake,” she said.
“The next day, they called me saying my ticket had won. They asked for my bank details and when I submitted them, I received the money. I was shocked. I’m so grateful to the Uganda Bettors Association for changing my financial journey,” Sarah narrated.
With her breakthrough secured, Sarah decided to resign from the bank.
“I have officially left my job. This money has given me hope and freedom. I will forever be grateful,” she concluded.
