ONC to empower youth, women at ‘Buganda Tweyambe’ outreach in Bukomansimbi

Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo and Hajji Shafik Mwanje are expected to lead the Buganda Tweyambe Initiative in Bukomansimbi this Sunday, on September 21.

Bukomansimbi, Uganda: The Office of the National Chairman (ONC) under the stewardship of SPA Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo has announced plans to roll out the Buganda Tweyambe empowerment initiative this Sunday, September 21, in its continued move to empower youth, women, and other special interest groups with wealth creation items.

The event, which will also serve as a thanksgiving celebration for Hajji Shafik Mwanje, the newly elected NRM National Chairperson for Persons With Disabilities (PWDs, will take place at Bulenge Playground and bringing together residents, religious leaders, and political mobilisers in Bukomansimbi District.

“We are coming to Bukomansimbi not just to celebrate Hajji Shafik’s victory, but to empower the people — especially the youth and women. Political mobilization must go hand in hand with real empowerment. That’s why we’re giving out start-up tools to help people work and earn, not just word and clap for leaders,” Hajjat Namyalo, the Senior Presidential Advisor and ONC Manager, said on Monday afternoon, adding that the empowerment package will include sewing machines, carpentry kits, hairdressing equipment, welding tools, and agricultural inputs tailored to local needs.

Hajjat emphasized that the ONC’s grassroots strategy is action-oriented and designed to restore public confidence in government programs.

On his part, Hajji Mwanje, who also serves as Bukomansimbi District NRM Chairperson and ONC Director of Mobilization, described the celebration as “a gesture of gratitude and grassroots solidarity.” He noted that his election to the Central Executive Committee (CEC) was a milestone for the inclusion of PWDs in national leadership.

“I thank the people of Bukomansimbi and all Ugandans for trusting me with this role. This victory has showcased what inclusive leadership looks like, where people with disabilities are recognized, represented, and empowered. I pledge to serve with loyalty, humility, and focus,” Mwanje said.

The Thanksgiving is also expected to act as a mobilization platform ahead of the 2026 general elections, with ONC leaders rallying Bukomansimbi residents to back President Museveni’s candidature and NRM’s agenda of peace, stability, and development.
