Minister Adoa implicated in uncovered plot to block Acom’s Serere Woman MP nomination

Esther Lucy Acom is set to be nominated on October 15, 2025

Serere, Uganda: The Minister of State for Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries (MAAIF), Hon. Hellen Adoa, has emerged as the invisible hand allegedly orchestrating a covert plot to block and frustrate Esther Lucy Acom’s nomination for Serere District Woman Member of Parliament.

Acom, whose rising popularity poses a serious challenge to the incumbent, is reportedly being targeted through maneuvers aimed at her closest campaign agents.

Sources claim that Minister Adoa has allegedly instructed certain GISOs (Gombolola Internal Security Officers) loyal to her to identify and summon Acom’s key mobilizers.

One insider told DailyExpress on condition of anonymity that, “Adoa’s first move is to focus heavily on Acom’s team. She’s reportedly enlisted GISO Bugondo to summon influential agents to Kampala—a move believed to be meant for coercion or compromise.”

Despite these alleged actions, Acom says she is confident. “I am confident that these plots will not succeed. My support among voters is strong and unwavering,” she said, urging supporters to remain calm and focus on voter engagement. “Victory is in our hands—the voters are the ultimate judges. Let’s focus on protecting our votes.”

Reports also suggest a second phase of the plan could target Acom’s nomination process, scheduled for October 15, 2025, in an attempt to derail her campaign. Nevertheless, her popularity appears to be growing, as seen during enthusiastic signature collection events.

Critics of the incumbent describe her alleged tactics as manipulative attempts to cling to power. Efforts to reach Minister Adoa for comment were unsuccessful, though sources close to her dismissed the allegations as baseless.
