“We weren’t on the same level” – Dokta Brain reveals why he split with Zhafar Music

Dokta Brain has confirmed his exit from Zhafar Music Agency just months after signing, citing unmet expectations in promoting his music to the mainstream.

Kampala, Uganda: Fast-rising Ugandan singer Dokta Brain has confirmed his split with Zhafar Music Agency, barely six months after signing a partnership deal in March 2025, citing unmet expectations in efforts to push his music into the mainstream.

Dokta Brain, known for his energetic performances and lyrical creativity, said the partnership failed to achieve its core purpose of taking his sound to wider audiences.

“The problem was that the music didn’t enter the mainstream. The album failed to do that, and we had to do an African tour for it, but that didn’t happen,” Dokta Brain told DailyExpress.

The singer also admitted that his fast-paced work ethic clashed with the agency’s approach.
“We reached a point where my speed and what I expected from them wasn’t similar. My speed was too much, and we couldn’t be on the same level anymore,” he said.

Despite walking away, Dokta Brain expressed gratitude to Zhafar Music Agency for supporting his career journey, particularly in producing his album and believing in his talent. He clarified that his music rights remain intact.

“I cannot disclose what the contract terms were because it was part of the agreement not to publicly disclose that information. But they don’t own my music because I’m the one who writes it,” he added.

What’s Next for Dokta Brain?

With fans now speculating about his next move, Dokta Brain hinted at exploring new management options or pursuing independence to keep pushing his music globally.
