Museveni to grace Kenzo’s ‘Yoweri Album’ Launch at Speke Resort Munyonyo

Eddy Kenzo, the President of the Uganda National Musicians Federation, is set to unveil his Yoweri Music Album at Speke Resort Munyonyo on September 27, with President Museveni as chief guest.

Kampala, Uganda: The Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF), led by its president and BET Award winner Eddy Kenzo (real name Edirisa Musuuza), is preparing for a historic evening on September 27 with the grand launch of The Yoweri Music Album at the prestigious Rwenzori Convention Center, Speke Resort Munyonyo.

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni will grace the occasion as the chief guest, underscoring the growing recognition of Uganda’s music industry as a powerful cultural and economic force.

The Yoweri Music Album blends Uganda’s rich musical heritage with contemporary global beats, aiming to amplify local talent on the international stage. According to Kenzo, the project reflects UNMF’s mission to unite, professionalize, and empower musicians through collaborative platforms.

The launch will feature live performances from top Ugandan artists, inspirational speeches, and networking opportunities for industry stakeholders, all staged against the scenic backdrop of Lake Victoria.

But as excitement builds, the event has stirred online debates, particularly on X (formerly Twitter), where some artists and fans have questioned the inclusivity of UNMF’s invitation process. Others, however, view the launch as a pivotal step toward repositioning Uganda’s cultural identity and boosting the creative economy.

Speke Resort’s premier stage

Hosting the event at Speke Resort Munyonyo, Uganda’s premier venue for world-class cultural and corporate gatherings, further elevates the album launch. The Rwenzori Convention Center, with its state-of-the-art acoustics and elegant design, promises an unforgettable showcase of Uganda’s musical brilliance.

As the countdown to September 27 continues, Kampala is bracing for a landmark celebration that could redefine the future of Ugandan music both at home and abroad.
