Jubilations as Masaka celebrates Kasolo’s NRM CEC victory

Masaka, Uganda: Hundreds of supporters, local leaders, and religious figures on Saturday thronged Kyanamukaka Sub-county to celebrate Hon. Haruna Kyeyune Kasolo’s recent election as the NRM National Vice Chairperson for Central Region on the party’s top decision making organ, the Central Executive Committee (CEC).

The thanksgiving celebration, held in Kasolo’s home area, had a festival atmosphere, with music, cultural dances, and speeches from party dignitaries punctuating the event.

The gathering drew Resident District Commissioners (RDCs) from across Greater Masaka, NRM flag bearers, and clergy from multiple denominations, underscoring Kasolo’s deep political and social roots in the region.

Kasolo, who also serves as the State Minister for Microfinance, dedicated his victory to his supporters in Masaka and the wider Buganda region, saying it was a collective achievement.

“This result belongs to you,” Kasolo told the jubilant crowd. “What we are celebrating here today is our unity.”

Local NRM leaders praised him as a dependable figure who has consistently bridged the gap between national leadership and grassroots communities.

One NRM flag bearer described his victory as “a clear sign of his hard work,” adding that Kasolo “has never forgotten us, and today we celebrate one of our own.”

Looking ahead, Kasolo pledged to use his new CEC mandate to strengthen NRM structures in Buganda, support party candidates, and ensure the ruling party remains responsive to the needs of local communities as the 2026 general elections draw closer.
