Adjumani, Uganda: Police in Adjumani District are holding in custody four suspects arrested in connection with the gruesome murder of 33-year-old Ingavure Williston, commonly known as Siesa, who was attacked and killed in Miniki village, Dzaipi Sub-County, on Friday night.
The case, registered under reference ADJ CRB 574/2025, has triggered an intensive investigation by Adjumani Central Police Station (CPS).
According to SP Collins Asea, the North West Nile Regional Police Spokesperson, the victim was ambushed at around 11:00 pm on September 26, 2025, while walking home from a local drinking joint.
“A group of youths, suspecting Williston of theft, confronted him along the road in Miniki village. The confrontation escalated into a violent assault after one of the assailants accused him of criminal activity and questioned his late-night movements,” SP Asea explained.
The brutal attack left Williston unconscious and abandoned at the scene. His body was discovered at around 5:00 am the following morning by residents heading to their gardens, who immediately alerted Nyumanzi Police Station.
Police launched a murder probe and visited the scene, though investigators said evidence had been tampered with. A canine unit was deployed to assist in tracking suspects, but authorities admitted that challenges in evidence collection remain.
SP Asea urged residents to remain calm and cooperate with security agencies, stressing that all suspects will be subjected to thorough scrutiny before being presented in court. “We are committed to a thorough investigation to ensure those responsible are brought to justice,” he assured.
Authorities are now appealing to the public for any information that may aid the ongoing investigation.
