Luweero, Uganda: The NRM Vice Chairperson for Central Region and Minister of State for Microfinance, Hon. Kyeyune Haruna Kasolo, Monday handed over six brand new motorcycles to Greater Luweero youth leaders, fulfilling a pledge he made last week on September 26 during a stakeholder meeting at Luweero Community Centre.
The Motorcycles were received by chairpersons of both the NRM Youth League and the Youth Council in Luweero, Nakaseke, and Nakasongola districts in the greater Luweero Sub-Region.
Hon Kasolo, accompanied by the NRM Deputy Secretary General Rt. Hon. Rose Namayanja Nsereko, urged the youth leaders to use the motorcycles strictly for service delivery and mobilisation rather than personal gain.
“These motorcycles are not for boda boda business or private errands. They are for ensuring that government youth initiatives are monitored and implemented across every sub-county,” Kasolo told the gathering, pledging to lobby for more locomotives for sub-county youth leaders.
The Honorable Minister admitted that Luweero had lagged behind in development due to voting for the opposition, urging voters to correct that mistake in 2026 by electing NRM flag bearers at all levels, including Woman MP Agnes Kirabo and Abubaker Kalume.
“If Museveni is given a solid NRM team in Parliament, your issues will be addressed faster. Luweero must not lag behind. The president is determined to deliver more in the next five years,” Kasolo assured.

“The President always begins his campaigns here because this land represents the sacrifice that brought NRM into power. It is a blessing for us, and we must use it to consolidate the future,” he added.
NRM Deputy SG Namayanja re-echoed the message, calling on youth leaders to mobilise their peers and prepare for President Museveni’s manifesto launch scheduled for Tuesday, September 30, at Speke Resort Munyonyo.
“This is your opportunity to tell the President your issues directly. At the same time, let us demonstrate unity and show that Luweero remains the heart of the Movement,” Namayanja said, adding that today the Luweero streets are shining because of NRM’s leadership.
“Luweero has over 200 schools, modern hospitals, and improved roads like Luwero–Kiwoko–Butalangu—all fruits of Museveni’s leadership,” Hon Namayanja emphasized. She further rallied the youth and Bazzukulu to remain united behind NRM candidates, warning that voting for independents only causes divisionism.

Luweero District NRM Youth Chairperson, Simon Peter Kaweesa, thanked Kasolo for keeping his word, saying the gesture would energise youth mobilisation in the district. “Hon. Kasolo has fulfilled his pledge, and we shall ensure these motorcycles serve their intended purpose. As youth leaders, our duty is to strengthen the party and support government programmes,” he stated.
Wobulenzi Town Council NRM Chairman Yasin Segawa, popularly dubbed the Mayor of Wobulenzi, revealed that he fought “tooth and nail” to ensure that Kasolo secures a seat on the Central Executive Committee (CEC).
“We believe Hon. Kasolo is the right leader to remind Museveni of the Museveni we know—the people’s president. With him in CEC, our concerns will be heard,” Segawa said as Kasolo opened the Town Council’s new NRM offices.

Segawa requested Hon Kasolo to lobby for support towards building a storey block at Wobulenzi Public School and assured him that the town and district leaders have massively mobilized for tomorrow’s grand event at Bukalasa where Museveni will officially launch his campaign
The event, held in Wobulenzi Town Council, attracted key NRM leaders and aspirants, including Minister for Greater Luweero Hon. Alice Kaboyo, Agnes Kirabo Nantongo (Woman MP flag bearer), Rashidah Birungi (LC5 Chairperson flag bearer), among others.
