MUBS student quits school after winning over UGX250 million in betting

A second-year student at Makerere University Business School (MUBS) has called it quits from school after winning over 250 million UGX through Uganda Bettors Association’s fixed games.

John Olinga explained that he had long been inspired by numerous success stories of individuals winning large sums of money through the Uganda Bettors Association.

Faced with financial hardships and l struggling to raise tuition fees by working on construction sites and taking on various side jobs, Olinga saw betting as a potential solution to his financial struggles.

“I had been hearing many success stories of people winning significant amounts of money from the Uganda Bettors Association,” he shared.

“I’ve been financially strained, working hard just to afford school fees. When I got a bit of money, I decided to take a chance and subscribed to their fixed games. I didn’t want to take any risks, so I asked them to place the bets for me. After I sent my stake, they provided me with a screenshot of my betslip
to track the games. I stayed up all night, watching the games play out at 2 am, and when I won, the entire night was filled with celebrations.”

“The next morning, I sent my bank details, and the money was quickly deposited into my account. Now,
I don’t see the point of continuing my studies. Most successful businessmen in Uganda didn’t even finish school; they simply hire skilled workers to run their enterprises.”

Olinga encouraged others who are seeking to change their lives to take risks, as he did. “If you want to change your life, take a chance like I did and visit the Uganda Bettors Association website,” he said.

While Olinga’s decision to drop out may raise questions about the long-term sustainability of such a path, his story underscores the growing allure of online betting as a potential shortcut to financial independence
