Uganda's Hip-hop star Navio performs with a full orchestra during his “Navio Orchestra Experience” concert at Serena Hotel, Kampala, on October 4, 2025.

Kampala, Uganda: Uganda’s hip-hop legend, Daniel Lubwama Kigozi alias Navio, on Saturday, October 4, 2025, delivered a groundbreaking performance at Serena Hotel, blending rap with a full orchestra in what has been hailed as one of the most innovative live shows ever staged in Uganda.

Organized by Fenon Events, the concert, dubbed “The Navio Orchestra Experience,” marked the rapper’s 10th major showcase and featured an extraordinary 40-piece orchestra performing alongside Navio’s famed Aka Dope Band, creating an unforgettable fusion of hip-hop and symphonic sound.

Conducted by music director Polycarp Kyagulanyi, the orchestra reimagined some of Navio’s biggest hits; including Ngalo, Bugumu, On & On, and Njogereza, with lush orchestral arrangements that elevated the emotional depth and artistry of each track.

Navio was joined by celebrated Ugandan acts such as The Mith, Keko, Feffe Bussi, Babaluku, and Sweden-based vocalist Kadiatou Holm, who all seamlessly blended into the orchestral flow, showcasing the power of collaboration and live instrumentation.

True to its tradition of excellence, Fenon Events delivered world-class production, from lighting and sound to stage design, reinforcing its dominance in East Africa’s live entertainment scene.

Beyond the music, Navio used the night to champion social impact, announcing that part of the concert proceeds would support maternal health programs and provide sanitary materials to girls in rural Uganda, underscoring his long-standing commitment to community empowerment.

Navio took a break in the middle of his show to pay tribute to his fallen friends, including DJ Bushbaby, Cedric Babu, and Rajiv Ruparelia.

His son Kingdom also performed his song “This Is My Kingdom”, showcasing how their rap talent runs deep in the blood.

With The Navio Orchestra Experience, the rapper not only celebrated 20 years in music but also set a new benchmark for live performance innovation in Uganda’s entertainment industry.
