Zombo, Uganda: The Alur Kingdom has officially announced October 31, 2025, as the date for the 15th Coronation Anniversary of His Majesty Ubimu Phillip Rauni Olarker III, with President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni expected to grace the celebration as Chief Guest.
The announcement was made during a colourful ceremony held on October 4, 2025, at Daudi Courts in Paidha Town Council, Zombo District, where the Kingdom inaugurated a central organizing committee to oversee the grand event.
The celebrations will be hosted by Kal Omua Chiefdom at the former Paidha Primary Teachers College playgrounds under the theme “My Culture for Wealth Creation.”

Dr. Amos Nyathirombu, the Kingdom’s Minister of Health and Chairperson of the Central Organizing Committee, presided over the launch and emphasized the event’s focus on promoting wealth creation through culture and unity.
“The Alur Kingdom has already pledged resources, and several corporate entities have begun contributing to this noble cause,” Dr. Nyathirombu said, calling on all Alur subjects in Uganda, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), and the diaspora to rally behind the celebration.
He revealed that President Museveni will be the Chief Guest and urged subjects and local leaders to mobilize support and contributions to make the anniversary a success.
Vice Chairperson of the organizing committee and Minister of Lands, John Pascal Wapokra, hailed Kal Omua Chiefdom for hosting the event and urged communities in Paidha to embrace the celebration, describing it as a symbol of unity and cultural pride.
David Ongom, Secretary of Kal Omua Chiefdom, expressed gratitude for the Kingdom’s choice of Paidha as host, saying the event would bring blessings and economic opportunities to the area.
The Alur Kingdom, which spans 56 chiefdoms in Uganda and eight in the DRC, has also unveiled pre-event activities, including the “Kopu P’u Bimu” sports tournament and the MTN Ker-Alur Bicycle Run 2025, aimed at fostering youth engagement and unity among the Alur people.

Youth leader and Paidha Town Council LCIII aspirant Sam Rwothomio urged the community to support the preparations, while Zombo Woman MP aspirant Adong Sarah encouraged unity beyond political divides, saying the anniversary was a moment to showcase the cultural richness of the Alur Kingdom.
School leaders also pledged to participate through traditional performances and cultural exhibitions. Gilbert Jakwonga, Headteacher of Divine Mercy Nursery and Primary School, confirmed his school’s readiness to perform traditional Alur dances and songs to promote cultural identity among children.
This year’s event, following last year’s celebration held in Parombo Town Council, Nebbi District, continues the Kingdom’s rotational tradition of hosting the coronation anniversary across its various chiefdoms.
