Entebbe, Uganda: The Entebbe Chief Magistrate’s Court has extended an arrest warrant against embattled land broker Muhammad Kamoga of Kamoga Property Consultants after he failed to appear before court on Monday to face multiple charges of forgery, uttering false documents, and obtaining registration by false pretence.
Presided over by Senior Grade One Magistrate Tibayeita Edgar Tusiime, the court ordered any police officer to apprehend Kamoga and produce him before court immediately to answer the charges under Sections 319, 324, 328, and 292 of the Penal Code Act, Cap 128.
“You are hereby directed to arrest the said Kamoga Muhammad and to produce him before me as soon as possible. Herein fail not,” read part of the warrant signed and sealed by Magistrate Tusiime on October 6, 2025.
The magistrate also summoned Katabi Town Council Mayor Ronald Kalema, who stood surety for Kamoga, together with a Local Council chairperson, to produce the accused in court by October 14, 2025; failure of which they will be remanded to Kigo Prison.
Repeated Absences and Fake Medical Reports
The latest warrant follows Kamoga’s continued defiance of court summons, having skipped proceedings three times under the guise of ill health. His lawyers, led by Mr. Brian Tindyebwa, previously presented medical documents from Nakasero Hospital claiming the suspect was critically ill and required four weeks of rest.
However, the state prosecutor, Mr. Paul Ahebwa Byamukama, tendered a certified hospital report dated September 25, 2025, confirming that Kamoga was only an outpatient, not critically ill, and capable of attending trial.
Magistrate Tusiime criticized the defense’s attempt to delay proceedings and directed that the accused be produced in court without further excuses.
Forgery and Land Fraud Allegations
Kamoga, formerly operating under the defunct M/s Kamoga Property Consultants, is accused of forging signatures and stamps of Advocate Lorna Nkamwesiga, businessman Peter Bibangamba, and other landowners to fraudulently acquire ownership of over 200 acres of prime land in Bukaya–Garuga, Entebbe (Wakiso District).
The state contends that in 2021, at the Wakiso District Lands Office, Kamoga forged a practising certificate for Advocate Nkamwesiga dated February 25, 2020, and fabricated transfer forms purporting to bear her signature as a witness.
He allegedly used these falsified documents to obtain registration by false pretence, transferring the land from its rightful owners into his name.
The Supreme Court had in July 2025 dismissed Kamoga’s application to halt the prosecution, clearing the way for his trial to proceed.
The state’s move to certify Kamoga’s medical records effectively thwarted what prosecutors described as his deliberate ploy to evade justice. “Kamoga’s attempt to delay trial through falsified medical excuses has been exposed. He is fit to stand trial,” said a source close to the prosecution.
Complainants in the land fraud case have since expressed optimism that Kamoga will be arrested and tried as directed by the Supreme Court ruling.
