Soroti City, Uganda: Members of the Teso Professional MCs Association have received a financial boost of UGX 100 million from President Yoweri Museveni to strengthen their SACCO and empower creative professionals in the Teso sub-region.
The announcement was made on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, during a strategic meeting of the Association held in Soroti City, where members convened to chart a new course for institutional growth, unity, and participation in national development initiatives.
Speaking at the meeting, the Association Chairperson, Mr. Musa Oroma, confirmed that the Presidential contribution would go directly to the Association’s SACCO to promote entrepreneurship, expand income-generating activities, and enhance financial inclusion for members engaged in the creative arts.
“We are deeply grateful to the President for recognizing the potential of creative professionals in Teso and supporting our SACCO with one hundred million shillings,” Oroma said. “This is a transformative gesture that not only strengthens our financial base but also demonstrates the value placed on youth and talent development.”
He further urged members to remain united, disciplined, and proactive in mobilizing support for ongoing government development programmes under the NRM leadership. Oroma emphasized that the creative sector plays a vital role in community sensitization, youth engagement, and the promotion of Uganda’s cultural identity.
The meeting also resolved to establish new regional partnerships and mentorship programmes for emerging MCs and entertainers, focusing on professional standards, digital innovation, and social impact.
The Teso Professional MCs Association reaffirmed its commitment to contribute to national development through creativity, responsible civic engagement, and the promotion of peace and unity within the region.
