Kiryandongo, Uganda: The Kiryandongo District NRM Woman MP flag bearer, Hon. Katusiime Jovia, has urged residents to rally behind President Yoweri Museveni and the National Resistance Movement (NRM) in the forthcoming 2026 elections, emphasizing the need to consolidate peace, stability, and development achieved under his leadership.

Addressing a meeting of NRM leaders and party flag bearers in Nyamahasa Sub-county, Hon. Katusiime called on party members to remain united and focused on securing 90 percent of the total votes for President Museveni and the NRM.

She described the NRM chairman as a leader with a proven record of visionary leadership and a manifesto that continues to address the needs of ordinary Ugandans. “President Museveni has consistently delivered peace, stability, and development across the country. We must safeguard these achievements by voting wisely and standing firm with the NRM.”

Hon. Katusiime also cautioned against the growing rhetoric of “independent candidates,” questioning their motives and legitimacy in areas where transparent NRM primary elections had been conducted.

“Why independent when we had free and fair NRM primaries in our district?” she asked, calling on voters to reject divisionism and remain loyal to the NRM cause.

She reaffirmed her commitment to ensuring that Kiryandongo District remains a stronghold of the NRM, united under a shared vision for continued progress and prosperity.
