Kibuku, Uganda: A 45-year-old man has died in a tragic road accident along the Pallisa-Tirinyi Road in Tirinyi Town Council, Kibuku District.
The deceased, identified as Buga Ali, a resident of Kilyolo village in Lwatama Sub-county, was struck by a speeding Fuso truck and pronounced dead at the scene.
Police reports indicate that the white Fuso truck, registration UBQ 354F, was traveling from Pallisa toward Tirinyi when the driver lost control upon reaching Tirinyi center, hitting Buga Ali who was walking along the roadside. The driver fled the scene immediately after the accident.
The police response was swift. IP Angella Max and her team documented the scene, noting tire marks and the truck’s final position.
The vehicle has since been impounded and is currently parked at Tirinyi Police Station pending inspection by the Inspector of Vehicles (IOV). Buga Ali’s body was transported to Kibuku Health Center for postmortem examination, according to ASP Kyempasa Wilfred, Police Regional Officer for Bukedi North.
Kyempasa confirmed that investigations are ongoing, with police collecting witness statements to establish the full circumstances of the incident. He urged anyone with information about the driver or the accident to come forward to assist the inquiries.
