Mayuge, Uganda: The Speaker of Parliament and Second NRM National Vice Chairperson (Female), Rt. Hon. Anita Annet Among, on Friday convened a massive NRM mobilization rally in Mayuge District to rally support for H.E. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and the NRM Flagbearers ahead of the President’s campaign visit to the area next month.
The event, held at Bukizibu Primary School Grounds in Malongo Sub-county, Bunya South was hosted by Hon. Iddi Isabirye, the incumbent area MP, with tens of thousands of NRM supporters, popularly known as Bazzukulu ba Museveni in full attendance.
Speaker Among applauded the people of Mayuge for turning up in huge numbers and urged them to replicate the same energy when President Museveni, also the NRM Presidential flag bearer, visits the district on November 18, 2025, as part of his national campaign trail scheduled between November 15 and 21.
“You have demonstrated the true NRM spirit today. I want to thank you for the love and unity you have shown. When the President comes next month, I expect this same turnout or even bigger. Let’s show him that Mayuge stands firm with Jajja,” said Among.
She urged residents to vote overwhelmingly for NRM at all levels—local council, parliamentary, and presidential—to consolidate the progress achieved under the Movement’s leadership and ensure the next phase of the manifesto is fully implemented.
“Our focus is to safeguard what NRM has built—peace, roads, health development, and opportunities for our youth and women. That’s why my visit here is purely for mobilization for our Presidential candidate, not for any other individual,” she emphasized.

Patriotic League of Uganda Secretary General, Hon. David Kabanda, who also addressed the gathering, called upon the youth to stay vigilant and protect the NRM vote. “Our task is simple—protect Jajja Museveni’s vote until January 2026. Do not be misled by political opportunists. The future belongs to those who stay loyal to the truth,” Kabanda remarked.
The Special Guest of the day, Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye, who is the Senior Presidential Advisor on Political Affairs and ONC Head, commended Speaker Among for rejuvenating the party’s mobilization drive and for spearheading renewed this same energy across the Busoga Sub-region.
“The Speaker has breathed new life into our party structures. The energy she brings is what NRM needs as we prepare for 2026. To the people of Busoga, let’s not repeat the mistake of 2021 when some areas followed the NUP wave and lost out on development opportunities. This time, vote wisely and secure your future,” Hajjat Namyalo said to loud cheers from the crowd.

The NRM leaders at the rally collectively praised Hajjat Namyalo for her tireless empowerment initiatives through the Office of the National Chairman (ONC), which they said have strengthened grassroots support for President Museveni.
The event was graced by prominent leaders and flag bearers from across Busoga Sub-region, including Hon. Bwiire Sanon Nadeeba (Bulamogi), Hon. Moses Grace Balyeku (Jinja South West), Hon. Solomon Silwany (Bukhooli Central), Hon Milton Muwuuma (Kigulu South), Hon. Ekoro Alex (Bunya East), Hon. Mpaata Saleh (Bunya South), Ziija David (Mayuge LC5 Flag Bearer), and Bagyire Aggrey (Bunya West and Mayuge NRM Chairperson).
The mobilization drive is part of the NRM’s broader campaign strategy to reawaken the party’s base across Busoga and other regions in preparation for the 2026 general elections.
