Budaka, Uganda: The Territorial Police in Kamonkoli Town Council, Budaka District, are investigating two separate aggravated robbery incidents that occurred on the night of October 16, 2025, leaving residents in fear.

The first case was reported by 44-year-old Nsigo Masttula Nankya, the Headteacher of Nakaloke Secondary School and a resident of Nyanza A Cell, who said four unidentified assailants armed with pangas and an axe broke into her home around midnight.

According to Ms Nankya, the attackers shattered a window to gain access to her bedroom before making off with three smartphones, one small mobile phone, two gold-colored watches, a laptop, and UGX 220,000 in cash.

Police officers led by ASP Kamurari, the Officer in Charge of Budaka Police Station, together with DAIP Watsala Willy and DAIP Kwiri (SOCCO), visited the scene, documented evidence, and recorded witness statements.

In a separate incident at about 2:00 am the same night, 45-year-old Semiuwema Peter, a radio technician and fellow resident of Nyanza A Cell, reported a break-in at his home.

Semiuwema told police that while he and his family managed to lock themselves in another room, the assailants ransacked his bedroom and fled with two smartphones, a driving permit, a handbag, a national ID, and UGX 3,260,000 in cash.

A police team led by DAIP Watsala Willy also visited this second scene, documenting evidence and taking statements from family members and witnesses.

ASP Kyempasa Wilfred, the Bukedi North Police PRO, confirmed the incidents, saying no arrests have been made yet, but investigations are ongoing. He appealed to the public to share any information that could help identify and apprehend the suspects.
