Adjumani, Uganda: President Yoweri Museveni Monday, wrapped up his campaign trail in the West Nile sub-region with a mega rally at Paridi Stadium grounds in Adjumani District, praising residents for their overwhelming support and highlighting the region’s transformation under the NRM government.
The President said the West Nile sub-region now enjoys lasting peace and security for the first time in Uganda’s history, attributing it to the NRM’s politics of unity and inclusivity.
“There is peace and security in West Nile and indeed all of Uganda for the first time in our history, thanks to the NRM’s politics of unity,” Museveni said.
Mr Museveni noted that development has become visible across the region, citing road projects such as the Moyo–Yumbe–Laropi–Koboko–Arua highway, expanded electricity access, and improved social services. “The population growth itself testifies to improved health and education,” he added.

While he acknowledged challenges caused by corruption among some officials, the President said the government has introduced initiatives like skilling hubs to empower youth and reduce unemployment.
“Even where corruption by some officials has caused challenges, we have provided alternatives like the skilling hubs, whose success we have demonstrated across Uganda,” he stated.
On health, Museveni pointed out that the main problem remains theft of drugs from government facilities and pledged tighter monitoring mechanisms. “We shall use computers and trusted, God-fearing people to monitor this vice,” he emphasized.

The Head of State also reaffirmed that the wealth creation message was gaining traction in West Nile, citing testimonies from local leaders including a Sheikh in Adjumani who spoke about the program’s impact.
He concluded with a vote of thanks to the people of Pakwach, Nebbi, Zombo, Obongi, Madi-Okollo, Arua, Koboko, Yumbe, Moyo, Terego, Maracha, and Adjumani for their hospitality and unwavering support to the NRM. “Continue supporting NRM, and we shall do even more,” he said.
