Adjumani, Uganda: Police in Adjumani District have launched investigations into a violent attack and robbery that occurred on Sunday, October 19, 2025, in Adjumani Town, leaving one man injured and property worth nearly Shs1 million stolen.
The incident, recorded under CRB ADJSD 37/19/10/2025 at Adjumani Central Police Station, happened at around 5:25 p.m., according to SP Collins Asea, the North West Nile Regional Police Spokesperson.
SP Asea identified the victim as Muzee Ben, a supporter of Anyama Ben, who is contesting as an independent candidate for the LC V seat. Muzee Ben was reportedly attacked alongside his colleague Amadra Patrick while seated at a boda-boda stage in the town center.
“The two had earlier been traveling in a vehicle with registration number SSD 574B when they stopped near the stage. According to the complainant, a group of supporters of Anyanzo John, who were part of a political procession heading toward Mission Road, diverted and attacked them with stones and bricks,” SP Asea said.
Preliminary findings indicate that during the assault, Muzee Ben lost personal items, including cash worth Shs870,000, a watch valued at about Shs100,000, and a pair of shoes, all totaling losses estimated at Shs970,000.
The victim managed to flee by jumping over a nearby fence and later reported the incident to police, citing robbery and malicious damage to his vehicle.
Police officers visited the scene, recorded statements, and confirmed that inquiries into the matter are ongoing.
