Nakivubo, Kampala: KCCA FC head coach Jackson Magera has urged his players to show greater composure and efficiency in front of goal as the Kasasiro Boys prepare for a high-stakes Uganda Premier League clash against long-time rivals Express FC on Thursday, October 23, under the Nakivubo floodlights.

“We have to bury the chances we get — that’s how we’ll win matches,” said Magera during his pre-match briefing. “In our last game against Lugazi, they defended in a low block and frustrated our build-up play. Our lads tried, but we were not clinical enough. We need to sharpen our finishing and be more precise.”

KCCA were forced to settle for a goalless draw against Lugazi FC last weekend, despite dominating possession and creating several goal-scoring opportunities.

Ivan Ahimbisibwe came closest early on, setting up Sammy Ssebaduka in the 11th minute, but his strike flew over the bar. Later, Shafik Kwikiriza’s cross found Ssebaduka again, only for Lugazi goalkeeper Mutebi to deny him on the line.

As KCCA regroup for Thursday’s Kampala derby, the technical team is emphasizing attacking fluidity, with key players Allan Okello, Rogers Mato, and Ahimbisibwe expected to lead the charge.

Express FC, who sit 7th on the table with four points, head into the clash after a 1–1 draw with URA FC, following an earlier 2–0 win over Gaddafi FC.

“We are taking each game as a final,” Magera added. “The players know what this fixture means to our supporters. It’s more than just three points — it’s pride, passion, and performance.”
