Hon. Mudimi bounces back as independent as Bulambuli names him “People’s Voice”

Hon. Nyasio Wamakhuyu Mudimi being nominated as an independent candidate for Elgon Constituency, Bulambuli District, on October 22, 2025.

Bulambuli, Uganda: Excitement swept through Bulambuli District on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, as Hon. Nyasio Wamakhuyu Mudimi, the MP for Elgon Constituency, was officially nominated to contest as an independent candidate in the upcoming general elections — a bold move that has reignited public confidence in his leadership.

Hon. Mudimi’s nomination follows what residents have described as an “unfair twist” during the recent NRM party primaries. Reports from polling agents and constituency supervisors indicated that Mudimi had convincingly won, but his victory was controversially denied under suspicious circumstances.

According to insiders, the Bulambuli NRM Electoral Commission cited “orders from above” and alleged financial influence as reasons for the disputed outcome. In one viral video, a party official — who also doubles as the district’s NRM Secretary General — was heard bragging that the party leadership had decided to “punish” Hon. Mudimi for previously contesting the position of NRM District Chairperson.

The move angered thousands of Elgon Constituency voters who viewed it as a political witch-hunt. Within days, delegations from across the district began flocking to Hon. Mudimi’s home, urging him to run as an independent, insisting that “the people’s choice cannot be silenced.”

Their call was answered on Wednesday, as Hon. Mudimi arrived for nomination, Bulambuli town was a sea of yellow and white — supporters waving banners, singing songs of victory, and chanting his name as he walked to the Electoral Commission offices.

Speaking moments after his nomination, Hon. Mudimi thanked the people for their steadfast support, pledging to continue serving them with integrity and purpose.

“Leadership is not about colors or positions; it’s about serving the people. I am here because the people have spoken,” he said amid loud cheers.

Widely regarded as a key architect of Bulambuli’s development, Hon. Mudimi has championed improvements in education, roads, and healthcare. His clean record and hands-on leadership style have earned him the reputation of being “the pillar of Bulambuli’s transformation.”

As the campaigns officially begin, one message is resonating across Elgon Constituency — the people stand firmly with Hon. Nyasio Wamakhuyu Mudimi, the man they call “the voice of Bulambuli.”
