Kamuli, Uganda: Primary Leaving Examination (PLE) candidates at Janet Boarding School Buwaiswa in Kamuli District have been urged to walk with confidence, embrace excellence, and trust in God as they prepare to sit their national exams next week.
The message of inspiration was delivered by Mr. Denis Onyango, the Centenary Bank Kamuli Branch Corporate Affairs Manager, during the school’s candidates’ blessing and dedication ceremony held over the weekend.
“From today onwards, wear the swagger of being special and victorious in whatever you do,” Onyango told the pupils. “This is the most special examination—it ends your longest education cycle and earns you your first national certificate.”
Onyango commended the school for providing holistic education that blends academic excellence with skills, moral values, and spiritual growth, in line with the new curriculum.
“Janet School has distinguished itself through excellent customer care and a rich learning environment that shapes learners to be relevant to their communities and spiritually upright,” he said.
He also encouraged the girls to remain determined and focused:
“Our dear girls, do not let the boys push you behind. Work hard, maintain your dignity, and reward your parents’ sacrifices with excellent results,” Onyango urged.
Faith and Excellence Encouraged
The dedication mass was led by Rev. Fr. Dr. Richard Buyinza, who advised the pupils to remain prayerful and depend on the Lord for success.
“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,” Fr. Buyinza said. “Always trust in Him, stay disciplined, and uphold the values that bring blessings.”
Speaking on behalf of the school directors, Ms. Night Gabula urged the candidates to uphold Janet School’s legacy of discipline, faith, and excellence.
“This school was founded in honor of our grandparents who labored to educate children. Our continued investment—in computer labs, a school band, demonstration gardens, and spiritual outreach—is not business, but service to the community and appreciation to God,” she explained.
Partner secondary schools including Busoga High School, Matuumu Secondary School, Stella Maris Nsuube/Nkokonjeru, and St. Gideon Secondary School Mukono participated in the event, introducing their institutions and engaging candidates for possible Senior One admissions.
The ceremony featured a vibrant performance by the school choir and band, as well as a symbolic blessing of the candidates by teachers, clergy, and parents — sending them off with words of faith, confidence, and success.
