Kampala, Uganda: Ruparelia Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the Ruparelia Group has announced an offering of 100 fully funded Master’s Degree scholarships in honour of the late Rajiv Ruparelia, the former Managing Director of Victoria University (VU), whose legacy of youth empowerment and educational transformation continues to inspire many.
The announcement was made on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, during Victoria University’s 9th Graduation Ceremony held at Speke Resort Munyonyo, a grand occasion graced by His Majesty William Wilberforce Gabula Nadiope IV, the Kyabazinga of Busoga, as Chief Guest.

The scholarships, which will benefit top-performing students of the graduating class of 2025, are aimed at advancing Rajiv’s dream of equipping young Ugandans with the knowledge and skills to transform society.

“This initiative is not just about education—it is about preserving Rajiv’s vision,” said Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia, Founder and Chairman of the Ruparelia Group. “He believed that empowering the youth through education was the greatest investment in Uganda’s future. Through these scholarships, his legacy will live on.”
Rajiv Remembered for His Passion and Impact
During the ceremony, the University Chancellor, Prof. John Opuda-Asibo, led the congregation in observing a moment of silence in honour of the late Rajiv, describing him as “a visionary leader who championed innovation, hard work, and opportunity for all.”
