Kampala, Uganda: The National Chairman of the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU), Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, has appointed Felix Kaihura as the new Head of the National Media Task Force (NMTF), with the aim of strengthening communication, public engagement, and media coordination across the country.
The appointment, announced on Tuesday, was signed by PLU National Vice Chairman Michael Nuwagira, aka Toyota, on behalf of Gen Muhoozi.
Party officials described the appointment as part of PLU’s broader strategy to improve coordination between the national secretariat and regional communication teams.
“Felix Kaihura understands the power of clear messaging and disciplined communication,” Nuwagira said. “We believe he will help amplify PLU’s message of unity, transparency, and people-centred development across Uganda.”
In his acceptance remarks, Felix Kaihura expressed gratitude for the appointment, describing it as both an honour and a responsibility. “My focus will be on building strong relationships with the media, ensuring timely communication, and engaging young Ugandans in meaningful political discourse,” Kaihura said.
He emphasized that his team would prioritize consistent messaging, digital media engagement, and grassroots outreach to ensure that PLU’s programs are well understood by the public.
Under Kaihura’s leadership, PLU is expected to roll out community dialogues, media briefings, and digital campaigns designed to strengthen the league’s visibility and mobilize support at the grassroots level.
The restructured Media Task Force will also enhance coordination between PLU communication wings in various regions, ensuring message consistency and rapid response to public issues.
Who Is Felix Kaihura?
Before joining PLU, Kaihura had built a reputation in student leadership and public service. He served as Guild President of Nkumba University, where he earned the highest vote percentage in a competitive election while pursuing a Bachelor of Laws degree.
He also worked with the National Identification and Registration Authority (NIRA) as a civil servant and later became Vice Chairman of the National Youth Council, serving under Ministers Aber Lilian and Phiona Nyamutooro.
Party officials say Kaihura’s blend of youth mobilisation experience, legal training, and public administration background make him well-suited to drive PLU’s communications agenda forward.
