Kibuku, Uganda: The NRM Second National Vice Chairperson (Female) and Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Anita Annet Among, on Sunday spent the day in Kibuku District mobilizing support for President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and other NRM flag bearers, calling for unity and transformational leadership rooted in peace, development, and prosperity.
Among urged voters to stand behind a united team of leaders under the NRM banner, saying this was the surest path to sustained progress. “If you have one team of leaders, then they can deliver,” she told residents. “Let’s vote for the NRM flag bearers who will better our lives.”
She also encouraged leaders at all levels to prioritize girl child education, warning that early pregnancies and child marriages remain a major challenge in Kibuku. Among pledged personal support for vulnerable girls in the district.
“Identify the vulnerable girls who have dropped out of school — I will offer them full scholarships. Let us give our daughters a chance to dream again,” she said.

Dr Patrick Wakida, the NRM flag bearer for Kabweri County, assured Among that Kibuku remains firmly NRM and would deliver overwhelming support for President Museveni. “Kibuku will deliver 100 per cent for NRM, and the President should expect not less than 99 per cent of the vote,” Dr Wakida declared.

He reiterated his commitment to improving education in the district, noting that his community initiatives have already made a positive impact.
“I started school debates in the district where winners in both public and private schools walk away with bulls and other prizes. My candidature represents a fundamental change in line with the NRM manifesto,” Dr Wakida stated.
The Kibuku LC5 Chairperson and NRM flag bearer, Hon. Mohamed Nakeba, praised the government’s development programs for transforming livelihoods, saying they have made mobilization work easier.
“Kibuku is predominantly NRM. Our main task now is to ensure 100 per cent voter turnout because every vote counts toward the President’s victory,” Nakeba said.
The Speaker’s visit to Kibuku comes as part of her ongoing nationwide campaign to consolidate NRM support and strengthen grassroots mobilization ahead of the 2026 general elections.
