Kampala, Uganda: President Yoweri Museveni has congratulated Her Excellency Samia Suluhu Hassan, the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, on her re-election, describing her victory as a reflection of the Tanzanian people’s confidence in her leadership and vision.
In a brief statement released via official X on Monday, November 03, President Museveni hailed the win by the ruling Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) party as a reaffirmation of Tanzania’s commitment to peace, progress, and democratic continuity.
“I congratulate Her Excellency Samia Suluhu Hassan, President of the United Republic of Tanzania and the Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) Party on her re-election as President of Tanzania,” Museveni said.
“This victory reflects the confidence that the people of Tanzania have in her leadership and vision.”
Museveni noted that Uganda and Tanzania share deep historical and brotherly ties that date back decades, emphasizing that the two countries will continue to work closely to advance regional cooperation.
“Uganda and Tanzania share historic bonds of friendship and cooperation,” he said. “I look forward to working with President Samia to further strengthen our partnership in trade, infrastructure, and regional integration for the peace and prosperity of our peoples.”
President Samia Suluhu’s re-election with a landslide victory, announced Saturday, November 1, solidifies her position as Tanzania’s first female head of state and one of the leading voices for economic transformation and gender inclusion in East Africa.
Her government has prioritized cross-border infrastructure, energy trade, and diplomatic cooperation — areas where Kampala and Dodoma continue to enjoy strong collaboration, including the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) and other regional connectivity projects.
Museveni’s congratulatory message to Suluhu is seen as an endorsement of the strategic partnership between Uganda and Tanzania, built on decades of political trust and shared Pan-African vision.
