Kamuli Progressive College boss collapses, dies at hotel

Kamuli, Uganda: Police in Kamuli District have launched investigations into the sudden death of prominent businessman and educationist Mr. Ntende Johnson Muga, the 69-year-old Director of Kamuli Progressive College, who collapsed and died at Dawson Hotel on Tuesday night.

According to preliminary findings, Mr. Muga left a social event at around 9:00pm on November 11, 2025 and drove his Toyota Prado, registration UBB 249G, towards Dawson Hotel in Kamuli Town.

Police say that upon reaching the hotel premises, he suddenly collapsed and lost consciousness.

The hotel management immediately alerted his wife, after which he was rushed to a private community health facility in Kamuli. Medical personnel pronounced him dead on arrival.

Kamuli Central Police Station officers visited the scene and recorded statements from key witnesses. The body was later transferred to Jinja Regional Referral Hospital mortuary for a postmortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.

Busoga North Regional Police PRO, SSP Samson Lubega, confirmed that a general inquiry file has been opened to guide further investigations into the circumstances surrounding the businessman’s sudden death.
