ISO 27001:2022 is the latest and most comprehensive version of the global information security management standard.
Kampala, Uganda: KCB Bank Uganda has attained the globally recognized ISO 27001:2022 certification, marking a major milestone in the bank’s efforts to strengthen information security, protect customer data and enhance its overall cybersecurity posture.
The certification follows an extensive and independent audit process and confirms that KCB Bank Uganda has implemented world-class systems for managing information security risks. It covers critical areas including data protection, cyber-risk management, business continuity and secure operational processes.
Bank leadership said the achievement places KCB Bank Uganda among a select group of financial institutions that meet the highest international benchmarks for safeguarding digital information. They noted that the certification underscores the bank’s sustained investments in secure digital banking solutions, fraud prevention tools and customer privacy safeguards.
According to the bank, customers will benefit from enhanced protection of personal and financial information, improved resilience against cyberattacks and greater confidence in digital platforms such as mobile banking, online banking and electronic payments.
The certification also strengthens the bank’s capacity to support secure regional transactions and cross-border partnerships across East Africa.
