Kisoro, Uganda: President Yoweri Museveni today launched the NRM’s Kigezi campaign trail with a firm focus on wealth creation, skills development and power connectivity, telling residents of Kisoro that the ruling party’s seven-point manifesto is designed to lift households into sustained productivity.
Speaking to the masses at Kisoro Saza Grounds, Mr Museveni announced that electricity will soon be extended to Nyarubuye Sub-county, the only part of the district still off the national grid.
“In the next Kisanja, we shall extend electricity to Nyarubuye Sub-County, which is the only one without power, and we shall build a new Health Centre III in Chanika Town Council,” he said.

But the President emphasised that the core of the NRM’s agenda remains wealth creation, which he said forms the foundation for job growth and household transformation.
“Jobs come from wealth, whether through the four-acre model, factories we have launched across the country, or the skills gained from our skilling hubs,” Museveni said, sharing video testimonies of Ugandans who have improved their incomes through government programmes.
Mr Museveni urged residents to continue supporting the NRM in the upcoming elections, saying Kigezi’s development progress is tied to programmes that prioritise skills, enterprise and industrialisation. “I ask you to vote for the NRM like you have always done,” he said.

The Kisoro rally marked the official start of the NRM’s campaign activities in the Kigezi region, where the party plans to showcase its achievements and ongoing efforts to expand opportunities in employment, electrification, health services and youth skilling.
