Kamwokya, Kampala: The Ruparelia Foundation has officially launched this year’s Christmas Outreach, beginning with a heartfelt charity visit to the Ghetto Research Lab in Mulago–Kamwokya, where families and children were treated to an afternoon of care, celebration, and remembrance.
The outreach was led by Sheena Ruparelia, daughter of businessman Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia, together with her husband, Jay Sakaria. The couple arrived with gift hampers, shared inspirational messages, cut cake with residents, and spent time engaging directly with families and children in the community.
The atmosphere at the lab was filled with joy, hope, and a deep sense of connection as the outreach marked the start of the Foundation’s annual Christmas charity season.

Gift hampers seen by this reporter were branded with the image of the late Rajiv Ruparelia, whose compassionate spirit continues to inspire the Foundation’s work as he was a guiding force behind its various philanthropic activities.
Rajiv is fondly remembered by many Ugandans for his generosity, offering scholarships, running charity drives, and supporting underprivileged communities, including during motor rally events where he actively participated.

The annual Christmas outreach has become a lifeline for thousands of families across the country, offering support, food items, and festive cheer during the holiday season.
