Buyende, Uganda: Police in Buyende District are investigating a case of unlawful wounding after a 51-year-old man was allegedly attacked and seriously injured by his two wives following a domestic dispute.
The victim, identified as Bebwa Robert, the LC I Vice Chairperson of Butayunjwa B Village, was reportedly attacked on December 15, 2025, at around 10:00 pm in Butayunjwa B Village, Buyanja Sub-county.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the victim was waylaid by Naluvuma Esther (44) and Nakayunja Norah (53), both residents of Buyanja Sub-county and spouses of the victim.
Police say the attack followed a domestic disagreement arising from allegations of infidelity. During the incident, the suspects allegedly assaulted the victim using a sharp object, causing severe injuries to his private parts.
Bebwa was rushed to Kidera Health Centre IV, where he is currently receiving medical treatment, while both suspects were arrested and are detained at Kidera Police Station to assist with ongoing investigations.
The Busoga North Police Spokesperson, SSP Samson Lubega, confirmed the incident and said police are still establishing the full circumstances surrounding the attack.
“Investigations are ongoing, and the suspects will be charged accordingly once inquiries are complete,” SSP Lubega said.
He condemned acts of domestic violence and urged members of the public to resolve family disputes through lawful and peaceful means, including seeking help from community leaders and the police.
