Kabale, Uganda: The Minister of State for Industry, David Bahati, has called for a peaceful electoral season ahead of the 2026 General Elections, urging voters to reflect on the key achievements registered by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and the National Resistance Movement (NRM) government.
Bahati, who is seeking re-election as Member of Parliament for Ndorwa County West, made the appeal on Thursday while delivering his Christmas message to residents in Kabale District.
He urged Ugandans to embrace peace and unity as they prepare to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ next week, saying Christmas remains a powerful symbol of hope, love and goodwill that should guide conduct during the political season.
“As we celebrate Christmas, we should observe its true meaning—the birth of Jesus Christ—which calls for peace, love and harmony among our people,” Bahati said.
The minister further urged voters to critically assess government performance ahead of polling day on January 15, 2026, highlighting achievements in infrastructure development, education, health services, electricity and water supply.
Bahati said the NRM government has laid a strong foundation for socio-economic transformation and assured voters that unfinished development programmes will be prioritised in the next political term.
