Kyotera, Uganda: The National Resistance Movement (NRM) Vice Chairperson for Buganda Region Hon Kyeyune Haruna Kasolo has revealed that the ruling party’s empowerment-focused agenda is steadily transforming the livelihoods of women and youth across central Uganda.
Kasolo made the remarks while addressing supporters during an NRM campaign rally in Kyotera District, where he highlighted the party’s emphasis on inclusive development, job creation and household-level wealth generation.
He said the NRM manifesto places young people and women at the centre of Uganda’s socio-economic transformation, citing government interventions in agriculture, enterprise development, education and skills training.
“The NRM government has deliberately empowered women and youth because they are the backbone of production. When these groups are supported, families become stable and communities prosper,” Kasolo said.

Kasolo commended residents of Kyotera for consistently supporting NRM candidates, noting that their voting choices have enabled the district to benefit from government programmes and infrastructure investments.
He urged local leaders to work closely with communities to ensure effective implementation of NRM initiatives, stressing that government programmes can only succeed if they are owned and protected by the people.
Kasolo further rallied voters to maintain unity and discipline during the election season, warning against divisive politics and misinformation, which he said undermine development gains.
At the same rally, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni officially handed Kasolo the NRM flag, endorsing him as the party’s flag bearer for Kyotera County in the forthcoming elections.
The endorsement formally cleared Kasolo to contest on the NRM ticket, with party leaders describing him as a seasoned mobiliser and trusted cadre in the Buganda region.
