Kampala, Uganda: Business magnate Sudhir Ruparelia is shifting focus beyond the festive season, with his latest luxury hospitality project, Paradise Island Resort, now fully completed and scheduled to open in April.
While Speke Group of Hotels continues to host Christmas and New Year festivities across its properties, preparations at Paradise Island are already geared toward the Easter holiday period, positioning the resort as Uganda’s next premium getaway destination.
Located about 20 minutes by speedboat from Speke Resort Munyonyo on Lake Victoria, Paradise Island Resort is designed as an exclusive retreat targeting honeymooners, leisure travellers and corporate groups seeking privacy, tranquillity and high-end comfort.

Construction of the resort began on May 1, 2021, as part of a broader push by the Ruparelia Group to strengthen domestic and international tourism offerings. The project blends modern luxury with natural island scenery, offering guests a secluded yet accessible experience.
Initially planned with 22 accommodation units, the project expanded following strong demand projections, adding 16 more units in a second phase.

The completed resort now features:
- 10 Standard Cottages
- 11 Standard Cliff Hanger Cottages with panoramic Lake Victoria views
- 14 Deluxe Two-Bedroom Cottages
- 3 Executive Villas designed for maximum privacy and premium comfort
Set on 19 acres, Paradise Island Resort is neighboured by a rocky island rich in indigenous tree species and home to large bird populations, making it especially attractive to nature lovers and bird-watching enthusiasts.

Paradise Island adds to a growing portfolio of hospitality investments by the Ruparelia Group, which includes ongoing expansion at Kabira Country Club, the Speke Resort Convention Centre, Kingdom Hotel and Ssese Beach Resort.
