Museveni’s 2026 victory must and will be defended by us, the Bazzukulu

Well, in the 2021 general elections, there were some weevils at different polling stations who had infiltrated the Electoral Commission as polling officers and polling assistants, who cheated the NRM Presidential Candidate, H.E. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni Tibuhaburwa, as well as other NRM flagbearers, especially in some parts of the Busoga and Buganda sub-regions.

These opposition opportunists fraudulently and deliberately altered results on declaration forms from different polling stations, where the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Presidential candidate would get, for example, 650 votes at polling station A, they would simply write 050 votes on the declaration forms.

The other way the opposition cheated was by deploying hooligans to threaten and harass the majority of known NRM supporters, or even presidential agents and agents for Members of Parliament, not to come to or reach polling stations. They would threaten them days before the elections or even waylay them on different routes to polling stations.

This was not just criminal in nature but also unpatriotic and treasonous. And this time around, this nonsense must stop.

Especially now that opposition figures like Mr Bobi Wine and others are calling upon their few supporters to stay at polling stations under the guise of protecting their votes, as if they are all agents or even security personnel.

We, as NRM leaders, will also call upon millions and millions of our supporters not to be intimidated, but to stay and defend our victory—especially the victory of our Presidential Candidate, H.E. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni Tibuhaburwa, Members of Parliament, and other lower-level leaders.

We will not be intimidated by elements of subversiveness who want our country, Uganda, to crumble as we watch.

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni Tibuhaburwa must be more keen this time around and see the actual votes recorded on declaration forms before signing, and ensure that all ballot papers are scanned before being cast.

We want to thank the Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, for coming out strongly to warn all those who could be thinking of staying at polling stations to cause violence.

All Ugandans and NRM supporters should come out of their houses on the 15th of January 2026 and peacefully vote for their leaders and President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni Tibuhaburwa to continue Protecting the Gains.

As NRM leaders across the country, we want to assure Mr Bobi Wine and opposition politicians that we are equally more than ready to also defend our victory without fear or favour.

No retreat, no surrender. President Museveni’s victory must and will be defended by us, the wananchi.

For God and My Country, Uganda.
