Pakwach, Uganda: The reigning King (Rwoth Ubimu) of the Alur Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Phillip Olarker Rauni III, has urged Ugandans to uphold peace, unity, and shared responsibility for national development as the country marks Christmas and heads into the crucial 2026 General Elections.
In his annual Christmas message to his subjects, the Alur monarch extended warm festive greetings to Ugandans and the Alur people in particular, commending citizens for their contribution to the “common good and development of our beautiful country” throughout the year.
“I encourage each of us to continue contributing to the development of our country and the betterment of each citizen,” King Rauni III said, underscoring the importance of collective effort in building a prosperous and stable Uganda.
With national elections scheduled for January 15, 2026, the King called for calm, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence during the electoral period, reminding citizens of their shared responsibility to protect national cohesion.
“As we go for polls early next year, I call on all Ugandans to remain peaceful and be each other’s keeper,” he said, describing Uganda as “our collective home” where every citizen has a duty to build rather than destroy.
Invoking the spirit of Christmas, King Rauni III appealed for healing, reconciliation, and compassion, praying that the season’s “light and hope” would bring lasting peace to the country. He encouraged Ugandans to use the festive period for reflection, contentment, and seeking common ground in pursuit of the greater good.
The monarch’s message aligns with the Alur Kingdom’s longstanding emphasis on socio-economic transformation, cultural preservation, and community empowerment under his reign. The kingdom, which spans parts of northwestern Uganda and extends into the Democratic Republic of Congo, has prioritized initiatives in education, environmental conservation, and household livelihood improvement.
King Rauni III concluded by wishing Ugandans a Christmas filled with love, happiness, peace, and God’s blessings, expressing optimism for a brighter and more prosperous New Year.
