Boda boda rider killed, motorcycle stolen in Kamuli

Police in Kamuli Municipality are investigating the murder of a 30-year-old boda boda rider whose body was found along a feeder road, with assailants fleeing with a stolen motorcycle.

Kamuli, Uganda: The Territorial Police in Kamuli are investigating a case of murder and aggravated robbery following the discovery of the body of a 30-year-old boda boda rider along a feeder road in Northern Division.

According to police, the body was discovered on the morning of Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at around 6:30 am, after a local resident alerted the LC I Chairperson of Bunangwe Zone, Kamuli–Ssabawali Ward.

The LC I Chairperson proceeded to the scene, confirmed the report, and immediately notified police.

Preliminary findings identify the deceased as Musulo Shafiu, a 30-year-old male, boda boda rider and resident of Busota Zone, Northern Division, Kamuli Municipality. The body was later formally identified by the deceased’s father, Kadogo Robert, after a phone call was received on Musulo’s mobile phone.

Police believe the murder occurred during the night of December 29, 2025, at an unknown time. Initial assessments indicate that the victim was riding a motorcycle belonging to a friend, Registration Number UFC 684A (Bajaj Boxer), which was allegedly stolen by the assailants after the attack.

Busoga North Police Spokesperson Samson Lubega said investigations are ongoing to identify and apprehend the perpetrators and to recover the stolen motorcycle.

Police have condemned the killing and appealed to members of the public to cooperate by providing any information that could aid investigations into what they described as a heinous crime.
