Kampala, Uganda: President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni is scheduled to deliver his official end-of-year address to the nation tonight, Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at exactly 8:00 pm.

The announcement was made by the President in a post via his official X account on Wednesday morning.

“Fellow Ugandans, especially the Bazzukulu, tonight at 8:00 PM, I will address the nation in my End-of-Year Message, reflecting on our progress and outlining the priorities ahead,” Mr Museveni posted. ” I invite all Ugandans to tune in to all major TV and radio stations.”

His announcement reechoed an earlier briefing by the Deputy Press Secretary, Faruk Kirunda, who told journalists on Tuesday that the President was set to address the nation on 31st December to usher Ugandans into the new year.

Kirunda noted that the annual end-of-year address is a long-standing national tradition in which President Museveni reflects on key developments over the past year, outlines government achievements and challenges, and sets out priorities for the year ahead.

“This address provides an opportunity for Ugandans to hear directly from the President about where the country has come from, the challenges faced, and what lies ahead,” Kirunda said.

He encouraged Ugandans to tune in, noting that the President’s end-of-year address often shapes national discourse and policy direction in the months that follow.

Citizens will be able to follow the address via local radio stations, television channels, and digital platforms, ensuring nationwide access to the President’s message as the country ushers in 2026.
