Your Excellency, on behalf of loving and patriotic Ugandans, I kindly request you to BAN POLYTHENE.

Polythene has degraded our soil, yet 70%+ of us natives depend solely on agriculture for survival, thereby negatively impacting the very survival of subsistence farmers. Polythene is equally degrading our towns and cities, making cleanliness a distant dream to achieve.

Mr President, in our Pearl of Africa, polythene is littered everywhere—from urban centres to remote villages—yet scientific research confirms that polythene takes up to one hundred years to decompose.

I know that currently your mind is boiling with big projects, but please, you would not go wrong if you added this one too to your already crowded list. Dear sir, if you save Uganda from polythene, then you would have saved the whole planet.

Finally, may God bless your endeavours in the forthcoming presidential elections.

Kind regards,
Joseph
