A National Unity Platform (NUP) parliamentary aspirant has won over UGX 300 million through fixed games facilitated by the Uganda Bettors Association, following his defeat in the recent general elections.
The candidate, whose identity has been withheld for security reasons, revealed that he turned to betting after suffering significant financial losses during what he described as a heavily compromised election process.
“I invested heavily in my campaign in an effort to secure a seat in Parliament. Unfortunately, I was rigged by the NRM, which cost me both my victory and my finances,” he stated.
According to the aspirant, the campaign left him deeply indebted, forcing him to seek alternative ways to recover financially.
“I borrowed large sums of money to fund my campaign, and the bank was on the verge of seizing my property. At that point, a close friend introduced me to sports betting, particularly fixed games, as a possible solution. Initially, I was hesitant because I had no experience in betting, but he convinced me to try,” he explained.
He further revealed that he contacted the Uganda Bettors Association through its official website, seeking guidance on how to participate.
“They assured me of professional assistance and helped me place my bets. After paying the required subscription fee and submitting my stake, they sent me the betting ticket. Later that night, I received a call confirming that I had won. They requested my bank details, and within 72 hours, the money had been deposited into my account,” he said.
Expressing gratitude, the former candidate praised the association for helping him overcome his financial challenges.
“Without their support, I would still be struggling with bank loans and the risk of losing my property. I am sincerely grateful for the assistance they provided,” he added.
The Uganda Bettors Association has, over the years, gained popularity among betting enthusiasts for providing betting tips and authentic fixed games. Many Ugandans credit the platform for helping them improve their financial status through strategic sports betting.
