Kampala, Uganda: Fresh details have emerged surrounding the brutal killing of popular TikToker and online businesswoman Diana Namulinde a.k.a Diana Skyz, whose body was discovered inside her apartment in Kyanja, Kawempe Division, as police intensify investigations into what is now being treated as a case of murder, aggravated robbery and rape.
Detectives familiar with the investigation now reveal that the breakthrough came at around 9 am on Monday, when a security guard attached to Gibeon Security Systems was intercepted by his supervisor along the Northern Bypass in Kisasi as he attempted to flee with two large suitcases and a laptop bag.
The guard, who reportedly failed to explain the origin of the luggage, was arrested and taken to Kensington Police Post, where he was charged with possession of suspected stolen property.
“Upon interrogation, the suspect confessed to having stolen the items from an apartment near where he was deployed,” a detective said, adding that the recovered property included mobile phones, an iPhone 17 Pro Max (silver), a Samsung phone, sunglasses, a wristwatch, handbags and other items packed in white and coffee-brown suitcases and two black backpacks.
Police later established that the items belonged to Diana Namulinde, 24, a resident of Nicholas Apartments in Kwaata Zone, Kyanja, who ran an online business dealing in jewellery, shoes, handbags and perfumes.
On Tuesday at about 3:40 pm, a 32-year-old Bernard Lukwago, a resident of Bahai, Kisasi, reported to Kensington Police Post that his girlfriend had stopped answering phone calls and messages, raising fears that something was wrong.
Lukwago later went to Kyanja, where he noticed signs of abnormal locking and possible burglary at Namulinde’s apartment. The caretaker reportedly advised him not to interfere with the house but instead to alert police, mentioning that a suspect had already been arrested with property believed to belong to Namulinde.
Police officers accompanied Lukwago back to the apartment, where they found a padlock with keys placed nearby. Using a stick, officers retrieved the keys, opened the door and proceeded to the bedroom.
Inside, they found Namulinde’s body lying upside down, with blood and saliva oozing from her mouth and nose, confirming fears that she had been violently attacked.

Investigations Ongoing
ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, the Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Police Spokesperson, confirmed on Thursday that a team of homicide detectives and scene-of-crime officers visited and documented the scene, recovered exhibits and recorded witness statements.
“A report of murder, aggravated robbery and rape vide Kensington SD 07/04/02/26 was registered and is being investigated at Kira Road Police Station vide CRB 103/26,” Owoyesigyire said.
He added that three male suspects, aged between 22 and 25, are currently in custody in connection with the death of Namulinde, who was also popularly known as “Skys” and “Rich Wife” on TikTok. Police sources said she had lived in the Kyanja apartment for about five months.
Namulinde’s brutal killing has renewed concern over violent crime in urban residential areas, particularly involving young women living alone.
According to the 2024 Police Force Annual Crime Report, more than 4,000 homicide cases were recorded countrywide, averaging about 12 killings per day. Police statistics show victims were killed through assault, poisoning, arson, shooting, domestic violence and mob action, with 4,329 deaths reported last year.
