Wakiso, Uganda: King’s College Budo, one of Uganda’s oldest secondary schools, has commissioned a 38-classroom state-of-the-art e-learning block, marking a major expansion of the school’s academic infrastructure.
The commissioning ceremony was presided over by the Katikkiro of Buganda, Charles Peter Mayiga, while the Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, Stephen Samuel Kazimba Mugalu, led prayers as the main celebrant.

Speaking at the launch, the Head Teacher of King’s College Budo, Mr. John Fred Kazibwe said the newly completed block significantly boosts the institution’s existing capacity of 28 classrooms and aligns with the school’s long-term strategy to integrate technology into teaching and learning.
“The new e-learning facility will enhance digital learning and provide our students with access to modern educational resources,” he said, noting that the infrastructure is designed to support blended learning, research, and innovation.

The expansion is expected to strengthen academic performance and position the historic institution to meet growing demand for quality education.
Administrators say the additional classrooms will ease congestion, improve teacher-student interaction, and support curriculum delivery in line with evolving global education standards.
Founded in 1906, King’s College Budo remains one of Uganda’s leading secondary schools, known for academic excellence and leadership development.
