Emirates gradually restores global flights after Airspace reopens

Dubai giant carrier, Emirates says it is gradually restoring flights after the reopening of regional airspace, with 106 daily return flights to 83 destinations expected by March 7.

Dubai, UAE: Airline giant Emirates has begun restoring its global operations after the partial reopening of regional airspace, announcing a reduced but steadily expanding flight schedule as it works toward full network recovery.

In a statement issued on Friday, March 6, the Dubai-based carrier said it expects to return to 100 per cent of its route network within the coming days, depending on airspace availability and completion of operational requirements.

“Following the partial re-opening of regional airspace, Emirates is operating a reduced flight schedule while working to restore full network operations. The airline anticipates a return to 100% of its network within the coming days, subject to airspace availability and the fulfilment of all operational requirements. Safety, as ever, remains paramount as is our duty of care,” the statement reads in part.

The airline emphasised that passenger safety and duty of care remain its top priority as it rebuilds operations following the disruption.

According to the airline, Emirates transported approximately 30,000 passengers out of Dubai on Thursday, signaling a gradual resumption of international travel.

By March 7, the airline expects to operate 106 return daily flights to 83 destinations, representing nearly 60 per cent of its global route network.

The airline said it is prioritizing key international markets where demand remains strong.

The Emirates revealed that it has significantly increased capacity in several high-demand regions. In the United Kingdom, the airline will operate 11 daily flights across five airports by March 7, reflecting strong travel demand between the UAE and the UK.

Operations are also being expanded in India, where Emirates will operate 22 daily flights serving all nine of its Indian gateways.

In the United States, Emirates confirmed that flights are currently operating to seven American gateways, ensuring continued connectivity between the US and the UAE.

The airline, however, advised customers to confirm their bookings before travelling to the airport. Passengers with earlier bookings are being prioritized for available flights, while the airline continues to adjust operations as the airspace situation evolves.

“Customers should only proceed to the airport if they have a confirmed booking,” the airline spokesperson said, adding that they are closely monitoring developments and will continue to update passengers through the official website and social media platforms.
