Luzira, Uganda: Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC dropped crucial points in the Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League title race after being held to a 1–1 draw by She Maroons FC at Luzira Prison Ground on Saturday.

The Valley Warriors dominated large spells of the second half but struggled to convert their chances, settling for a point that leaves them on 33 points, just one ahead of She Corporate FC, who host Lady Doves FC on Sunday.

Head coach Ayub Khalifa expressed frustration after the match, citing missed opportunities that denied his side maximum points.

“We controlled the game in the second half and created clear chances, but we were unable to convert them. It’s frustrating to drop points in back-to-back away games,” Khalifa said.

She Maroons took the lead early in the match when Kauthara Naluyima fired a thunderous strike in the 12th minute, leaving Kawempe goalkeeper Saidat Namwanje with no chance.

After taking the lead, the hosts adopted a compact 4-5-1 defensive formation, allowing Kawempe to dominate possession but limiting clear scoring opportunities.

At halftime, Khalifa made tactical adjustments, introducing Shadia Nabirye to add pace on the wings and Zainah Nambozo to strengthen creativity in midfield.

The changes shifted momentum in Kawempe’s favour as they pushed forward aggressively, controlling possession and stretching She Maroons across wide areas.

Their persistence finally paid off late in the match when Latifah Nakasi scored the equaliser, rescuing a point for the visitors. Despite the comeback, Kawempe were left frustrated after failing to capitalise on numerous chances in the closing stages.

Meanwhile, in Soroti, Kampala Queens FC kept their title ambitions alive with a 1–0 victory over Olila High School WFC at Olila Ground.

Namaganda Zaituni scored the decisive goal in the 31st minute, while Peace Muduwa delivered a standout performance to earn the Woman of the Match accolade.

The result keeps Kampala Queens firmly in the title conversation, while Olila High School WFC remain without a win this season.

Matchday 14 concludes on Sunday with four fixtures across the league, and She Corporate FC will attempt to reclaim the top spot when they host Lady Doves FC at the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru.

Elsewhere, Uganda Martyrs High School WFC face Makerere University WFC at St. Gerald’s Ground, St Noa Girls FC host Rines SS WFC at Mutesa II Stadium, and Asubo Ladies FC take on Amus College WFC at Kampala Quality Ground.
