Amuria RDC, Paul Eseru (2nd L) briefing leaders on the upcoming district accountability Baraza at Abarilela Sub-county headquarters on March 12, 2026.

Amuria, Uganda: Residents of Amuria District are expected to confront local leaders and government officials during a Community Accountability Baraza scheduled for Thursday, March 12, 2026, at Abarilela Sub-county Headquarters.

The meeting, organised by the Office of the Resident District Commissioner (RDC) for Amuria District, is intended to create a platform for citizens to directly engage leaders on government programmes, service delivery and accountability.

According to an official invitation issued by RDC Paul Eseru, the public gathering will bring together community members, local leaders, cultural leaders, civil society organisations, media representatives and other stakeholders.

The Baraza will begin at 9:00 AM and is expected to focus on discussions around development programmes, public service delivery and transparency in the management of government initiatives within the district.

Officials from the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) are also expected to attend the event.

RDC Eseru said the meeting will provide an opportunity for residents to ask questions, raise concerns and provide feedback on government programmes being implemented in their communities.

“The Baraza will serve as an important platform for interaction between government leaders and the community to discuss government programmes, service delivery, accountability, and to receive views and feedback from citizens,” the notice, seen by DailyExpress, reads in part.

Authorities have encouraged members of the public to attend in large numbers and actively participate in discussions aimed at improving service delivery and development in the district.

District leaders say such forums are intended to strengthen transparency, accountability and effective implementation of government programmes.

The meeting is expected to attract residents from across Amuria District as communities seek answers on issues affecting local development.
